Walter Perdigao is a Whitby resident, husband, father, business founder, and practical problem-solver running to represent Whitby East Ward 4. After more than 16 years living in Whitby, Walt understands the pressure residents are feeling from rising property taxes, everyday costs, and Town Hall decisions that need clearer explanations.
He believes local government should listen better, spend carefully, and focus on the everyday issues that affect families, seniors, homeowners, renters, and local businesses.

Respect Your Tax Dollars
Property taxes and rising everyday costs are putting real pressure on Whitby families, seniors, homeowners, renters, and local businesses. Walt will fight for a 0% property tax increase over the next two years to give residents some relief and time to recover, oppose tax hikes that outpace inflation, and push for every tax dollar to deliver real value for residents.
Careful Spending. Clear Budgets.
Council needs to spend carefully, reduce waste, protect core services, and make budgets easier to understand. Walt will use his 16 years as a business owner to scrutinize every budget, ask practical questions, and fight for an independent Auditor General to help keep council's spending decisions accountable, transparent, and focused on real value for taxpayers.
Safer, Stronger Neighbourhoods
Residents deserve to feel safe on their streets, in parks, around schools, and at home. Walt supports practical and modern solutions for traffic safety, speeding, lighting, neighbourhood concerns, and better follow-up when residents report problems.
Better Communication from Town Hall
Local government should be easier to understand and easier to reach. Walt believes residents deserve clearer explanations, more practical digital services, and better communication before major decisions are made.
